Greyfriars church, Reading - phase 2
Following the successful completion of Phase 1, Ash Contracting earned the privilege of negotiating Phase 2 of the Greyfriars, Reading redevelopment. The invitation to undertake the subsequent phase is a testament to the quality demonstrated by our team during the initial stage.
Commencing Phase 2, our team initiated the project by demolishing the existing visitors centre this marked the beginning of an ambitious new build project featuring a 3-storey concrete frame community building which was seamlessly connected to the existing church through a linking walkway.
The construction timeline, spanning just over a year, exemplified our commitment to timely and efficient project delivery. The newly erected building boasts a host of facilities, including community spaces, meeting rooms, W/Cs, a distinctive steel staircase, and prayer rooms. This purposefully designed structure not only enhances the existing infrastructure but also positions itself as a versatile space available for rent by the church. The multi-functional rooms cater to various community needs, embodying the project's commitment to inclusivity and adaptability.
The external works encompassed extensive landscaping, transforming the surroundings. Additionally, a new car park was created, strategically designed to serve both the community centre and the church, enhancing accessibility and convenience for all stakeholders.
